New residents moving into the Waitākere Ranges (Te Wao Nui a Tiriwa) are being sent a special welcome letter from Te Kawerau ā Maki (mana whenua of the Waitākere Ranges), Waitākere Ranges Local Board and Pest Free Waitākere Ranges Alliance. The welcome highlights the very special and rare native plants and wildlife in the Waitākere Ranges, along with its special historical and cultural character.

The fold out mail piece provides some simple steps that everyone can take to care for our native forest, rivers, coastline and wildlife, and offers those new to the area the opportunity to collect some resources and the chance to win a PekaPeka bird feeder. The very first winner is Kim King of Parau.

The information in the mailer has been made available for everyone to access at www.livingintheranges.nz.
