The Pest Free Waitākere Ranges Alliance (PFWRA) is an informal alliance of networks and groups restoring biodiversity in the Waitākere Ranges Heritage Area. Consisting of approximately 30 groups through which an estimated 4,000 volunteers are engaged, the Alliance’s role is to uplift and enhance its members.

The Waitākere Ranges Local Board funds a Coordinator to support the work of the groups as well as to encourage and grow more conservation activity in the Waitākere Ranges. EcoMatters Environment Trust umbrella the Alliance providing support services such as human resources.
