Matuku Link

Matuku Link, bordering the Te Henga wetland, is a large native forest block in Auckland’s Bethell’s valley. It is a home to rare wetland species such as bittern, crakes, pāteke as well as to native bats along the river and the raupo. The kauri and the kahikatea are a home to many bush birds like kereru, fantail, tui, ruru, tomtits and recently even a rare robin was seen.

We have monthly working bees from 10 am to 1pm with shared lunch (optional but recommended!) after. We also have a team of volunteers helping out in the nursery on Tuesday mornings from 9am to noon. For more information, visit our website www.matukulink.org.nz

Our aims are protection, restoration and education of our precious ecosystem, especially focusing on the wetland, as only 9% of wetlands remain in Auckland.
