ARK IN THE PARK

Located within Cascade Kauri Park and the Waitākere Ranges Regional Park, Ark in the Park is home to ancient forest giants, pristine waterfalls and streams, and some very special wildlife.

Ark in the Park is a community driven conservation programme restoring native biodiversity in Te Wao Nui a Tiriwa, and is a collaboration between Forest & Bird, Auckland Council, and mana whenua Te Kawerau ā Maki.

As one of New Zealand's largest open sanctuaries, Ark in the Park is also a proud member of the Sanctuaries of New Zealand collective and the Pest Free Waitākere Ranges Alliance.

At the heart of the Ark's conservation mahi is a dedicated community of passionate volunteers. Together, they help protect native wildlife through predator control, species monitoring, and a wide range of different conservation activities.
