Te Henga Valley wetland conservation group Matuku Link took out the Collaboration Category at the recent Mayoral Conservation Awards, beating out four other finalists. They were recognised for working with others in the community, and across a wider network, to achieve significant conservation outcomes. Congratulations!
Te Ara Hikoi: Tawhiti SmartCages, a collaboration between Franklin’s three largest landcare groups, has won the Mayoral Conservation Award innovation category.
The smartcages uses a 10 month automatic lure dispenser and wireless monitoring. It is integrated with TrapNZ to notify you when the trap goes off.
