Peter Casey has lived in the Waitakere Ranges since 2010 and enjoys the growing sense of responsibility for our environment that living in this special place conveys. Initially it was clearing his section of fortresses of wild ginger and tradescantia. Peter has been on the Waiatarua Residents and Ratepayers executive committee for seven years, five of these as President. This has helped him understand who the locals are and what they care about. Being a creative Peter thrives in helping establish groups, events and strategies but finds routine more of a challenge. An achievement he is proud of is helping define the need for and coordinating the initial strategy for what has become the Pest Free Waitakere Ranges Alliance.
